2016 AAO Annual Session - How to 'Up Your Game' in Using a Computer

Credits: None available.

Most of us use a computer on a daily basis. Rarely do we receive formal training but rather just learn it as we go along. There are all sorts of new things to learn, and this session will share some simple and immediately useful topics that will help you at home and at the practice office, including: making the most of multiple screens in the clinic and consults, the fastest printing method is not printing at all, safe surfing to prevent spyware and viruses, understanding the risks of email and how to deal with it, steps to help keep your information safe. Steve promises to limit the Geek Speak and discuss issues in terms everyone can understand. He encourages you to bring your stories and challenges to share during the session.

After this lecture you will be able to:

  • List the potential security risks for your computer network
  • Organize your security defense strategy with an IT policy
  • Demonstrate how to safely use the Internet to minimize the risk of intrusion
