2018 Webinar - Clinical Photography: What is Your Doctor Looking For?

Credits: None available.

Photographs of our patients’ facial features, teeth, and oral tissues have long been vital in documentation of patient conditions and treatment results. Well-made photographs are also critical in the diagnostic and treatment planning process. With the advent of digital photography, there is little excuse for being unable to produce high quality photographs of our patients. This lecture will discuss the various intra-oral and extra-oral images, tips and techniques for making photos you can be proud of, and various uses for them.

Learning objectives:

  1. Identify the points before, during and after treatment when clinical photographs are needed and the different “shots” that may be used.
  2. Demonstrate techniques needed to produce high quality intra-oral and extra-oral photographs.
  3. Discuss various ways clinical photographs can be used in patient education, treatment planning, case presentation and marketing.
