Dr. Miguel Hirschhaut DDS, PhD

Dr. Miguel Hirschhaut was born in Caracas, Venezuela on November 19th, 1970. Completed a Bachelor of Science at Moral y Luces Herzl-Bialick in Caracas, Venezuela and graduated as a Dentist from Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1993. Second place in his dental school class out of 102 dental students. Receipient of the Fundayacucho Excellence Scholarship by the Venezuelan Government for his Postgraduate Training in Orthodontics completed at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine Dept of Orthodontics in 1995. Dr Hirschhaut completed a PhD-Doctorate in Dentistry at Universidad Central de Venezuela in 2022. Has been in private practice of Orthodontics in Caracas, Venezuela for the last 27 years focusing on Adult Orthodontics and is a Clinical Professor of Orthodontics at Universidad Central de Venezuela. Has lectured extensively in 18 countries while delivering over 250 lectures on Interdisciplinary Treatment, Adult Orthodontics, Combined Orthodontic/Orthognathic Surgery Therapy, Impacted Teeth. Has published several articles in peer reviewed journals including AJODO, AJODO Clinical Companion and Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry. Has written 3 book chapters on TAD Expansion, Impacted Teeth and Surgical Orthodontics for International Editorials. Has reviewed articles for Dental Press Journal of Orthodontics, Revista Veritas Odontologica de Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá, Colombia and Acta Odontologica Venezolana. Was Editor for Revista Venezolana de Ortodoncia from 2000 till 2002 and Secretary General for the Venezuelan Society of Orthodontics in the same period. Currently is on the Editorial Board of Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry. Has an eleven year old son and likes art, gardening and practicing fishing and softball in his free time.
