From Good to Great with Effective Miniscrew Mechanics

This lecture will present how simple miniscrew biomechanics can improve the predictability of your treatment results and make your practice go from good to great. Results from clinical research using miniscrew implants will be presented focusing on the treatment of growing Class II open-bite patients. Also, new and simple alternatives for distal and mesial movement of dental segments will be shown in detail. In addition, the lecture will cover important parameters for choosing adequate implant sites for high success rates with miniscrews.

What is the consequence if chronic inflammation around the screws persists? Can and how will the damaged root be repaired? The questions raised were answered through our analysis on animal and clinical studies. The collective information may be useful to the clinicians when incorporating temporary anchorage devices into orthodontic biomechanics.
