TADs: What Do We Know About the Design?

TADs are now commonly being used in clinical orthodontics. Currently, there are many different kinds of TADs in the market. Are there any specific design characteristics, that we as orthodontists, need to pay attention to? How do these different characteristics effect the success rate of TADs?

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the different physical characteristics of TADs
  • Help orthodontists to choose TADs depending on their clinical needs

Anchorage considerations play an important role in treatment planning, more so today, with an increase in complexity of malocclusions and adult multidisciplinary cases. The rate of success however is dependent upon understanding and applying carefully planned biomechanical strategies. Cases will be used to discuss a variety of clinical applications of TADs.

Learning Objectives:

  • Evaluation of space for TADs
  • Biomechanics
