It has been nearly 20 years since biomodulation techniques (vibration, PAOO) have been in place. At this time, we are able to now evaluate all available effective strategies for enhancing the rate of tooth movement. This presentation will focus on what has been achieved and what works and what does not and why. While advances can be slow and methodical, we ask - Has anything changed in our fundamentals of clinical practice of orthodontics?

Learning Objectives

  • Understand past and current efforts to expedite the rate of tooth movement in clinical practice.
  • Assess the rationale and biological basis of such therapies and translate them into clinical practice.
  • Evaluate the overall progress in the field and what effective strategies/techniques a clinician could then apply to promote success in their orthodontic practice.
