Date
May 6, 2019
The skeletal anchorage using miniplates has revolutionized the concept of orthodontic, orthopedic and orthognathic treatment for growing and adult Class III patients. Firstly, it became possible to camouflage severe Class III malocclusion by distalization of the mandibular entire dentition. Secondly, it became possible to intraorally control jaw growth in growing Class III patients. Thirdly, it became possible to completely eliminate presurgical orthodontics and significantly shorten total treatment time in Class III surgical cases.
Learning Objectives:
Identify the features of Class III biomechanics using miniplates.
Outline the our recent concept of Class III correction in growing patients.
