With the rise in use of clear aligners as a treatment modality in most orthodontic practices, it is imperative that each clinical team member be well-versed in their role in providing effective and efficient treatment. As in all treatment types, assistants can do many things on behalf of the doctor, to allow the doctor to be more efficient each day. In this engaging presentation, Dr. Depew will review methods to accurately bond attachments, remote monitoring, what to watch for at each virtual and in-person visit, what to accomplish at the refinement appointment, and retention. He will also review patient instructions and motivation for compliance with clear aligners. As an added bonus, he will also explain the growing role of “Digital Lab Tech” or “Digital Coordinator” in today’s orthodontic practice.

Learning Objectives

  • Confidently bond attachments that are crisp, free of flash, and retentive, while understanding the importance, mechanics, and types of attachments.
  • Manage patients as they progress through treatment, including conducting each visit, monitor the patient remotely, importance of refinement, and proper patient instructions and motivation.
  • Understand the role of the “Digital Coordinator” and how to interact with this team member, or even take on all or a portion of that role.
