Vertical Control of Retrognathic Adolescents using Skeletal Anchorage
Date
May 6, 2024
Molar intrusion using skeletal anchorage can improve not only overbite but also chin deficiency by counterclockwise mandibular rotation. Even normal overbite and deep overbite patients with chin deficiency can be treated using total arch intrusion to improve retrognathic profile. Previous studies showed horizontal growth of mandible is greater than that of maxilla. If vertical control using skeletal anchorage is performed in adolescents, the amount of skeletal change will be greater than adults.
Learning Objectives
Evaluate how total arch intrusion treatment using skeletal anchorage affects patient's profile.
Identify the effectiveness of total arch intrusion treatment in adolescents.
Understand how to make a treatment plan of total intrusion treatment in adolescents.
