Dr. Harry Legan has specialized in treating the most challenging cases for over 35 years. Currently in private practice, he served for 32 years in full-time academics as Associate Professor and Director of Orthodontics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School–Parkland Memorial Hospital, Professor and Chairman of Orthodontics at West Virginia University School of Dentistry, and founding Professor and Chairman of Orthodontics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Legan is on the Editorial Boards of several journals, including The Angle Orthodontist and the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics. He has authored numerous publications and lectured extensively world-wide. Dr. Legan is well known for his expertise in diagnosis and treatment planning, biomechanics, obstructive sleep apnea, orthognathic surgery and distraction osteogenesis. Dr. Legan is Vice President of the North Atlantic Component of the E.H. Angle Society, President of the Tennessee Association of Orthodontists, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
