Dr. Rolf G. Behrents MS, PhD
Dr. Rolf G. Behrents received a B.A degree from St. Olaf College, his dental education at Meharry Medical College, and his orthodontic training from Case Western Reserve University. He received a Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan for work conducted at the Center for Human Growth and Development. He subsequently served on the faculty at Case Western Reserve University, The University of Tennessee, Baylor College of Dentistry, and St Louis University until his retirement in 2018; over the years he had 430 students. In 2001, he was awarded an honorary degree (Doctor Honoris Causa) by the University of Athens; he received the Blair Distinguished Service Award from the AAOF, as well as the Jarabak International Teacher Award. He received the ABO Ketcham Award in 2020. He has also received several awards for his research, has authored and co-authored numerous articles pertaining to clinical orthodontics and facial growth, and has lectured extensively across the US and abroad. He also served as Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. He is now retired in Tucson, AZ. He has been supported and encouraged by his family and colleagues throughout his entire career.
