Intuition and Biomechanics Do Not Go Together

This course aims to show mechanics examples where results are different from what intuition tells us. Explanations will be given as to why this happens and how we can prevent these discrepancies from happening. Clinical examples will be given as well as scientific explanations to support the information supplied.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand that intuition does not generally apply to mechanics in orthodontics.
  • Understand how wire and plastic's elasticity can fool our minds.
  • Apply the knowledge obtained to improve treatment efficiency.
